What is black hat SEO

 Black hat SEO is the use of unethical techniques to try and achieve a better ranking in the search engine results pages or SERPS.

Black hat SEO focuses on robots rather than the humans landing on their page and because of this pages optimised with black hat techniques are often spammy and not very useful for the person that lands on it.

This is why Google and other search engines don't like black hat techniques as its their goal to deliver the most relevant pages for any given search term and not deliver horrible spammy looking sites or even worse deliver a page that is not related to the search quire at all.                            

 An example of a black hat technique's would be keyword stuffing or invisible text as well as door way pages.Black hat SEO is not a viable long term option for a website if you want it to be long term.

When Google crawls a page it thinks is trying to be mischievous they will penalise it by dropping it lower in the SERPS or in some cases the site may be removed from the SERPS all together

 Although their is the risk of a site dropping off the SERPS because of the use of black hat SEO most people using these techniques are not worried in the first place as they are using these techniques for quick high return business models and the risk of being banned from the SERPS is not a massive issue.
