What is link baiting?

Link bait is when a piece of content or feature is placed in a website or on a page to try and get more people to link to that particular website or page.....

The idea is that if you have something interesting or useful on your site then lots of people will link to it which will help your SEO as it creates lots of inbound links means a better PR (page rank) for information on page rank click here.

Your link bait will have to be interesting enough to catch peoples attention but if its not then your not going to get many people linking to your site, so it can be difficult to think of something that will get allot of people to link to your site.

But if you do manage to create a great piece of link bait then it can really help your site especially if your piece of link bait goes viral.

Link bait usually comes in a few different forms:

Your head line will have to be strong and interesting to grab people's attention.
look at the page your going to be placing your link bait on and make sure it looks enticing to people so they will want to read or watch your link bait.

You can create a list of contacts you will show your link bait to first before you set it live.It would make sense to share it with people you think will share it with others as this can really boost the viral effect of your link bait
